Q

What are some effect of ACh in the brain?

A

Its active in maintaining waking electroencephalographic pattern of the cortex, thought to play a role in memory by maintaining neuron excitability. Decrease of ACh are thought to be related to alzheimer’s disease.

Q

Give me the steps that happens in dopaminergic synapse?

A

Once dopamine is released. Reuptake by dopamine transporter (DAT). Bind to auto-receptors. monoamine oxidase (MAO) and catechol O-methyltransferase (COMT).Bind to metabotropic receptors (D1-5).
