A
a succession of tonic-clonic seizures without regaining consciousness between attacks.
5 or more minutes OR repetitive seizure activity without regaining consciousness

1 st line management of status epilepticus
A
Benzodiazepine
- IV lorazepam
- Buccal midazolam
- Rectal diazepam

2nd step if no response to 1st line management within 10 minutes
A
IV antiepileptic drug
- Na valporate/Phenytoin
Inform neurointensivist or anaesthetist

A
ICU admission, General anaesthesia with intubation + ventilation
