I-Olfactory-sniff substance
III, IV, VI-Oculomoter, Trochlear, Abducens-PERRLA & 6 cardinal positions of gaze
V-Trigeminal-Palpate TMJ, clench teeth, light tough with cotton wisp
VII-Facial-smile, frown, lift eyebrows, puff cheeks. observe for facial droop & ptosis
VIII-Acoustic-whisper test
IX, X-Glossopharyngeal, Vagus-Uvula rises midline, gag reflex
XI-Spinal accessory-shrug shoulders. Test ROM of neck & muscle strength against resistance
XII-Hypoglossal-stick out tongue. Light, tight, dynamite.
