the imairment of the eye is commonly associated with a down and out appearance of the ispliateral eye , enlarged pupil and sluggish reactions
- this reflects the presence of some depression and full abbduction action of the globe , controlled by the superior oblique and lateral rectus which are innervated by the fourth cranial nerve and the sixth cranial nerve repsectivley

- an localised third nerve palsy - when complete ptosis is apparent and it involves the levator palpabrae superior
other factors include - complete paralysis of innervated extrocular muscles and pupil mydrisassi , third cranial nerve palsies are often incomplete
