Prefrontal lobe function, assessment and deficit.
Tact, inhibition, insight, judgment, personality
S/S: Flat affect, abulia, inappropriate conversation, impulsive, belligerent

Motor/precentral (frontal lobe) function, assessment and deficit?
One step motor commands : hold two fingers up.
S/S: combative, restless

S/S: expressive aphasia (Brocas area)

Receives stimulus from body and interprets them. (size, shape, weight etc)
Parietal lobe assessment
pain and temperature, light touch, proprioception
Occipital Lobe function and deficit
Visual interpretation: size, form, color. Deficit: impaired visual
Temporal Lobe function and deficit
Hearing, short-term memory, Wernicke’s area. Assessment: short-term memory, understanding

Internal Carotid Artery deficit
visual acuity, hemiparesis, hemiplegia.
Middle Cerebral Artery Deficit
Homonymous hemianopia (visual neglect), contralateral pronator drift, facial droop and weakness
Anterior cerebral artery Deficit
(hemiplegia) of Leg weakness, foot drop, urinary incontinence
LMCA deficit
Broca’s: Ability to articulate speech. Expressive aphasia
Wernicke’s: Understand speech.
Both? Global aphasia
