- Cheaper
- Less venerable to centre server crashes
- Simpler to set up and maintain
Disadvantages
- Slower processing of tasks
- Only works well on small networks <15
- Security and backup are not centralised and difficult to manage
- Access to data depends on the owners permission

- Faster processing of tasks
- Can manage large networks
- Centralised control with servers doing many management functions themselves
- Offers easy access to centralised data
Disadvantages
- More expensive as software system more complex and need to buy servers
- If server crashes no one can continue work
- Require specialist personnel to manage server
