Define Local Area Network (LAN)

A

A Local Area Network (LAN) connects devices together over a small area, such as a building or site. Devices are referred to as Nodes.

A LAN may contain as fews as two nodes (home office) to hundreds of nodes (Large office).

Define a Wireless LAN (WLAN)

A

Where devices are connected using a Wireless Access Point (WAP)
WAP requires both a connection and a power cable.

The WAP is connected to the switch, it acts as a node, however provides wireless wifi connection.
