What is SMTP?
Simple mail transfer protocol. Application layer of the TCP/IP protocol
What does each email provider have?
Their own smtp server that is used to send/receive emails.
What is NAT?
Network Address Translation - not enough of Ipv4 addresses so a network has a public outfacing ip address within which each connected device has its own private IP address that can be the same as of a different device in a different network.
What are the levels of the OSI model?
please do not throw sausage pizza away 1. physical layer (are the cables connected) 2. data - switching, MAC addresses 3. network 4. transport - UDP, TCP 5. session management 6. presentation layer - images 7. application - HTTP, SMTP
What is subnetting?
Creating a network within a network - the ip addresses will typically belong to a group and share common beginnings.
