How does a device become part of the network ?
It has to be connected to a network device ( switch )
How do we access digital data on the internet through a given end-device ?
The end device is connected to a network device such as a router which connects the LAN to the internet
What do all end-devices have in common in a given LAN ? What differentiates them from each other ?
All of the end-devices in a given network have the same default Gateway, Subnet mask and the Network part of the IP address. What differentiates them from each other is the unique part of the IP address.
What are clients required to have in order to access data provided by a specific server ? Give example.
Clients are required to have specific software that allows the device to request and display data provided by the server. Example of this software would be a game client, email client ( Outlook or Email ), file client, web client ( Firefox, Brave, Tor )…
What is the important thing to consider when we are choosing the correct network media ? Give examples .
It is important to consider the cost, the environment where the media will be deployed, the data speed and the distance that has to be covered
What does the Network physical topology show ?
It shows the physical location of devices, the location of certain components or devices inside the network cabinet as well as colour cables and marking
What does the Network logical topology show ?
It shows the IP address of each device as well as the network. purpose of each device, device names and interface labels
What is the main device of a LAN network ?
Switch
