The nervous system is the one in charge of
Coordination
The nervous system is divided in two parts
The central and the peripheral
Main organs of the central system
Brain and spinal cord
The brain has 3 parts:
- Cerebrum
- Cerebellum
- Brain
Controls voluntary movement
Cerebellum (part of the brain)
Coordinates movement and main balance
Cerebellum (part of the brain)
Regulates internal organs
Brain stem (part of the brain)
Is the division that contains and carries information from the central nervous system. It sends information to the brain and carries out orders from the brain.
The peripheral system
Parts of the peripheral system
- The somatic system
- the automatic system
Part of the peripheral system that sends SENSORY information.
(Sensory means the information coming from your senses)
The somatic system
Part of the peripheral that is responsible for making sure that all the AUTOMATIC things that your body needs to keep you going
(Breathing, digesting….)
