Ulnar at elbow vs (hypothenar sensory changes)
Ulnar at wrist (4th and 5th finger sensory changes) ***to differentiate elbow vs wrist, you’re looking for conduction block on EMG/NCS
C6 vs Median
C6 = Deltoid (axillary), biceps (MC), extensor carpi radialis (radial)
Median = FDP (C8/T1), APB (C8/T1)
C7 vs Radial
C7 = Pronator terries (median)
Radial = Brachioradialis (C5/C6)
C8/T1 vs Ulnar
C8/T1 & Lower trunk = APB (median), FPL (median/AIN), Extensor indices (radial)
Medial Cord = Extensor indices spared
Ulnar =
Foot drop
L5 = Hip abduction
Sciatic = Knee flexion, Inversion
Peroneal
- Common = Dorsiflexion, Eversion
- Deep = Dorsiflexion (eversion is superficial peroneal)
****You can differentiate sciatic vs peroneal on EMG with the short head of the biceps femoris (sciatic, not peroneal)
