Q

How do NSAIDS cause kidney damage?

A
  • Inhibition of prostaglandin production
  • Prostaglandins help to vasodilate
  • Lack of prostaglandins = nothing to counter vasoconstrictive signals from the body in renal blood flow
  • Constriction of renal arterioles lead to ischaemic damage and tubular necrosis
