Nephrotic vs Nephritic Flashcards

1
Q

Nephrotic

A

Proteinuria, Hyperlipidemia, Hypoalbuminemia
-pissing out a ton of protein, losing stuff in the blood
- The liver freaks out bc the blood has no protein, so makes fat

Q

Rapidly Progressive Glomerulonephritis

A

Many renal pathologies result in this
SLE
Cresentic glomerulonephritis
“loop wire” lesions (also in Diffuse glomerulonephritis) “Diflupus”
“Rapidly “Crescentic”” glomerulonephritis
“Crescent=loop=lupus”

Q

Goodpasture Syndrome

A
Type 2 hypersensitivity rx
Antibodies to type 4 collagen in GBM
involves lungs and kidney
linear deposition (vs lumpy bumpy)
Goodpasture = 2-pasture
(type 2 HSRX, involves 2 organs)
