Q

describe pathogenesis of crescent formation

A
  • glomerulus is inflamed
  • focal capillary destruction
  • exudation into bowmans space (fibrin, macros, mediators)
  • parietal epithelial proliferation forms crescent

6
Q

3 possible pathways of immune complex pathogenesis

A
  • first, formation or deposition of Ag-Ab complexes (can cause membranous patho, depends on where the deposition occurs- ie subendothelial or subepithelial)
  • could have complement activation and thus low blood complement (used up)
  • could have PMN chemotaxis (proliferative)
  • could have mesangial proliferation (mesagioproliferative pattern)
