Why was the Nepal earthquake so severe?
Nepal is and LEDC meaning there is:
• Lack of education
• Poor infrastructure
• High reliability on others
The aftershocks were strong meaning buildings were already weakened and so continued to collapse in the aftershocks

- 8633 dead
- 19000 injured
- 2.8 million made homeless
- 18 sherpas killed on everest

• May 12th- cholera outbreak concerns
• As tourist destinations damaged there was an economic loss in this sector
