NEMATICIDES&RODENTICIDES+OTHER CHEMICALS TO CONTROL VERTEBRAE PESTS Flashcards
Nematicides
Limited in amount.
As broad-spectrum, most available nematicides pose substantial threats to the environment and humans.
Generally classified as fumigant or non-fumigant.
Critical to know the nematode species present and to have population estimates.
Fumigants: Most applied pre-plant and generally a lot better than non-fumigants. These include restricted use, methyl bromide, metam sodium, and 1,3-dichloropropene.
Non-Fumigants: Can be applied through irrigation before or after planting and include fenamiphos and sodium tetrathiocarbonate.
Vetebrae Pest Control
Common used pesticides available include burrow fumigants, strychnine, anticoagulants, chemosterilants, and repellents.
