- we don’t need to belief a situation is real to react
- intensity of emotions can be different
- is one is indifferent will not experience emotion at all

- our pity is based on belief that it is fictionally true in the story
- doesn’t mean it’s pity ( as it means we desire for a different story. we can feel sad and accept the work as is
