failure to report, respond or orient to novel or meaningful contralesionally stimuli
what are some common causes?
right hemispheric stroke, typically parietal lobe
note: effects usually temporary (recoverable)

how does neglect operate?

what is extinction?
mild form, occurs only when two stimuli presented despite still activating visual-cortex (attention over perception)
what are some non-spatial deficits of neglect?
poor working memory, larger attentional blink and poor attention span
