Anorexia nervosa

A

Anorexia nervosa is when the client has a distorted body image and doesn’t eat due to fear of obesity. It is usually associated with a stressful event. These clients are extremely underweight.

Death can occur due to starvation, suicide or electrolyte imbalances.

Adrenergic

A

Communication between the nerves and muscles that uses epinephrine as the ‘messenger.’ Adrenergic stimulation is what is involved in the ‘flight or fight’ response, which means the body is alerted to a danger of some sort and prepares to basically run or fight.

Used to treat Shock, Cardiac Arrest, and Anaphlylaxis.
