A
  • To deliver air-minded leadership training in order to develope credible, highly motivated, physically and mentally robust Senior Non-Commissioned Officers (SNCOs) capable of undertaking specialist training in the air environment.

Exercise Ultimate Challenge

A
  • 3 Hour Battle PT Session
  • Competing in teams
  • Series of relay races using heavy training equipment
  • Immediately followed by a 10k race where teams carry a stretcher and a weighted dummy, or build and push a chariot.

IPLT

A
  • North Cranwell Airfield
  • Mentored through a series of leadership tasks, lasting 2 hours a piece
  • Covering 8-10k a day over flat terrain with a few obstacles
  • Staying in normal accommodation

APLT

A
  • Stanford Training Area (STANTA)
  • Leadership tasks more difficult than IPLT
  • Covering 10-15k per day
  • Eating from ration packs and sleeping in the field

Exercise Southern Border?

A
  • Takes place in Otterburn Training Area, Northumberland.
  • Covering up to 18k a day over difficult and hilly terrain
  • Eating rations and sleeping in tents

Exercise Border Patrol?

A
  • PASS/FAIL (Summative leadership task)
  • Takes place in Otterburn Training Area, Northumberland
  • Distance, Terrain the same as EX SB.
  • Hardened accommodation provided
  • Must pass one leadership assessment (2 chances)
