What were the 5 methods of nazi terror during Nazi rule?

What were the SS?
Protection Squad for Hitler.
50,000 perfect Aryan men.
Ruthless and ferociously loyal to Hitler.
Death Heads Units controlled concentration camps.
Waffen SS fought alongside army.
What was the impact of the SS? How did they control the Germans?
Could arrest anybody who opposed the Nazis and any opposition so made Germans scared to oppose the Nazis

Prevented rebellions
Could arrest people without trial

Who were Informers?
Block wardens in towns, who would visit the different houses and collect donations for the Nazi Party.
What was the impact of the Informers? How did they control the Germans?
Wrote reports on people that would determine what job they would have, scared people into being a good Nazi so they stayed employed.
Reported any anti-Nazi behaviors, e.g. not saluting or putting up the Swastika flag.
Those accused were mainly killed in concentration camps.
What were Concentration Camps?
Specialised prisons that help Communists, anti-Nazis, Jews etc.
Slave Labor, Torture, Manufacturing weapons.
First one opened in Dachau in 1933.
What was the impact of Concentration Camps? How did they control the Germans?
Made Germans scared to go against the Nazis as they feared for there lives.
Got rid of people who could spread anti-Nazi ideals further
Stopped individuals from starting a revolution as they were locked away.
Many prisoners died of starvation in these camps.
What were Police and Courts in the Nazi era?
Judges had to take an oath of loyalty to Hitler and the courts were now run by Nazis.
They had to display the Swastika.
Liberal or Jewish judges were replaced by Nazi supporters.
What was the impact of Police and Courts? How did they control the Germans?
Dettered people from committing crimes against the Nazis and following their ideals.
Death penalty for some crimes eg Having a sexual relationship with a Jew.
500 opponents of Hitler were sentenced to death.
What was the Gestapo?
Secret State Police run by Himmler.
Tapped into mail, telephone etc and used torture to spy on German behaviour.
Their job was to search out opponents to the Nazis.
What was the impact of the Gestapo? How did they control the Germans?
Rumors were spread and people were scared of being caught.
Stopped people from gaining ideas of rebellions by killing the leaders.
Gestapo could arrest anyone and send them to concentration camps without trial.
What were the aims of the Nazi economic plan?
Stop paying reparations.
Autarky-Achieve complete self sufficiency.
Four Year Plan to get the economy ready for war
with industrial production.
“Guns before Butter”- Rearmament for the war.
Full employment.
How did the Nazis achieve full emplyment?
Jews were sacked and their jobs given to Aryan men.
Women were also sacked.
Beauty of Work programme encouraged people to work and to see that it was good.
By introducing conscription into the German Army.
How did Germans benefit from the economic plans?
Strength through joy, gave workers rewards eg theatre trips, holidays.
Public Works Programme, new motorways, schools and hospitals payed for by the Nazis.
Volkswagen Bettle, monthly payments that could lead up to getting a car.
What was the National Labour service?
A service for 18 year olds where they could live in lodgings and help dig ditches and get food.
After sixth months the men were conscripted into the amy.
