• Husband was not allowed to give his wife a lethal injection
• however in Re B, switching off the machine was okay (patient was braindead)

What happened in the case Wilson 1996, Brown 1993 (law and society)

Answer 2

• In Brown a homosexual group used objects to sexually please themselves and a select view hurt themselves.
• even though it was consensual, some were convicted of crime and punished
• however in Wilson, a heterosexual couple did the exact same thing and they were not convicted of a crime, showing the double standards of the legal system.

• ball hit out of a ground and smashed a car window.
• had only happened 6 times in the last 30 years.
• the stadium had high nets to prevent this from happening
• company was not liable since it was a rare occasion.

what happened in the case Topps v London Busses (law and society)

• a random man joyrides an unlocked bus and crashes into multiple properties causing damage.
• judge rules that the bus company is not liable even thought the keys were left in the bus by the driver on purpose

• Hl provided justice for women in cases for martial rape.
• but he man was found guilty of a crime which was not criminal when committed.

What happened in the case Mike Tyson? (law and justice)

• Tyson was convicted of rape; women testifies that he was being a pervert, yet witnesses testify otherwise (but since it was two weeks before, it was thrown out); women also accused another celebrity prior which was proven to be false(evidence also thrown out); Tyson did 5 years in jail.

• IRA wanted independence of Ireland and began to commit terrorist attacks on UK soil; bombing in Birmingham and Guildford
  -UK police could not find actual terrorists so they framed Northern Irish working class people, who were each convicted and severed lengthly sentences in jail.
• Government found out and kept it a secret and a judge locked up the cases for 70 years
• eventually found not guilty and released.

What happened in the Tony Martin case? (law and justice)

Answer 8

• Martin killed a burglar and injured another on his own property ; convicted of murder and the other burglar claimed compensation, causing controversy; shot them in the dark with likely intent to kill.
• however having called the police numerous times to no avail, went to meetings to stop the robberies; attempted to do it legally.
• suffered from depression in jail; reduced sentence.
