- derived from the trinity through creation
- because of creation is called to have a relationship with the Trinity
- Our hearts are called to love God
- through creation is given a immortal soul to seek God, an intellect to reason and know God and a free will to choose God.
- The will is intimately connected to our physical body because it is through the body that we experience the world

Purpose ( 3 main points)
- main point is to enter the kingdom of God
- to enter the kingdom you need to emulate Christ as a model
- His life acts as a ethical and spiritual guideline
Purpose - ethical
Ethical Model:
SACRIFICIAL LOVE ‘Love One another as I have loved you’ (John 15:12)
CARE FOR THE POOR ‘whatever you do for the least of these brothers…’ (Matt 25:40)
NON-VIOLENCE Turn the other cheek (Matt 5:39)
Purpose - spiritual
Spiritual Model:
- PRAYERChrist invites us to ‘pray unceasingly’ (1 Thess 5:17)
- THROUGH CHRIST “No-one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6).
Purpose - Kingdom of God
