What did Aquinas believe?
God is immutable and therefore consistent
God is absolutely good and the purpose of creation was to reflect that goodness

Natural moral law
Gods eternal law revealed through nature and interpreted by reason it is not dependent on belief in God or special revelation.
Human law
This refers to the systems of law built up by human societies on the basis of natural law

How did manualists interpret the precepts
a lot more rigid and narrow than aquinas did
they cut out any reference to the virtues
what is proportionalism
states that the moral principle arising out of NML should be firmly upheld unless there is a proportionate reason for not doing so
