what is deontological
something that must always follow the rules/a set approach to how something must be done-certain actions are intrinsically right or wrong regardless of what’s going on

refers to something (final destination) goal or purpose of something
what is an absolutist?
believe that there are universal moral norms which apply in all situations and at all times no matter what the situation
why did aquinas develop the ideas of aristotle?
•people were confused about contradictions in christianity so aquinas showed them god was real
•reconcile the teachings of god with “reason”
•for aquinas natural law is based in the belief in a natural creator who is responsible for giving humans beings reason
