Q

How are tsunamis created?
(Scientific wording)

A

Tectonic upthrust in the form of earthquakes and ocean floor volcanoes cause vast quantities of water to be displaced in a very short amount of time, generating massive amounts of energy.

Q

How is a tsunami formed?

A

movement of the ocean surface due to earthquakes, landslides on the sea floor, large volcanic eruptions or meteorite impact in the ocean the energy from it travels upwards but gravity pulls it down and displaces it at each side because it can’t go anywhere else then the energy travels with the wave and in deeper water it is smaller but very fast but when it gets into shallow water it slows down and gets bigger.
