Derived from reverence for life. Spirituality and practicality completely intertwine. Life is affirmed,celebrated, and honored. All life is sacred
The great spirit
Source/creator. Not overly personified yet it’s interactive. Sends signals. Provides omens,listens to prayers, grants blessings, oversees and guides yet allows freedom
Nature
Nature is evidence of spirit in all dimensions. Ex: trees, animals, lakes, birds
Animistic
All things have souls and spirits
Master animal
Usually an animals that provides the groups sustenance
Ex: buffalo
Animal life
Taken for sustenance and religion. Done with reverence and replaced by acts of hollering. Apologized to spirit and make them understand why
Mother Earth
The earth is often seen as the mother, nurturer, and provider. Understand the gift. Humans need to remain close to the earth. Life is rooted in respect,cooperation
Medicine man
State attuned to nature, spirit, and it’s ways. Can use herbs, cure, and predict events.
Even if not chosen you still need to live with nature and understand eachother and spirits.
Healing techniques
Prairie dog medicine- helps with breathing
Buffalo- used for clothing, food, tools
Badger- prophecy in blood
