Permnanent migrants
are those who stay overseas is employment-related, and who are expected to return to the Philippines at the end of their work contract - this category is more popularly known as Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs). Also, au pairs, students, trainees, entrepreneurs, businessmen.
Temporary migrants
are those not properly documented, without valid resident work permits, or who are overstaying in a foreign country.
