Metal keeps the name and non-metal changes to an ide ending
Polyatomics stay the same
Type 2
Ionic compound (transition metal and non-metal)
Stock name: anion gets ide ending, polyatomic stays the same, metal’s charge is specified by roman numerals
Traditional names:
plumbous (Pb +2)
plumbic (Pb +4)

Ferric (Fe+3)
Stannous (Sn +2)
Stannic (Sn+4)
