Morton’s neuroma– finger in bottom of foot
McMurray
Click in knee + for meniscus
Tinel’s sign
Tap anterior wrist (carpal tunnel)
Phalen’s sign
Flex wrists together back to back– carpal tunnel
Brudzinski
Severe neck stiffness causes hips and knees to flex– meningitis
Kernig
Inability to straighten leg– meningitis
Carnett
Flex abdominal muscles with arms above head– if pain improves, issue is with inside abdomen; worse means wall is involved
Murphy
RUQ pain, cholecystitis/gallbladder
Markle
Heel jostle test– appendicitis/peritonitis
McBurneys
Deep palpation pain RLQ appendicitis
Psoas
Extend R leg backward, + is appendicitis
Obturator
Rotation of R leg; + is appendicitis
Gray Turner
Blue spot on back, pancreatitis
Cullen
Blue around umbilicus, pancreatitis
