Ordered to collect golden apples that gave one immortality. He went to ask Prometheus of its whereabouts, but first freed him from his punishment. He also suggested he would seek Atlas’s help as no mortal could pick the apples. Heracles traded positions with him, holding up the sky. Atlas cursed the hero.
