My Revison On Idicators On How A Country Is Developed Flashcards
GDP
GDP shows the average amount of money a person might get annually. The good thing is that is shows a hint of how developed a country because is shown the money of its normal citizen making the country if has a high GDP then it must be developed but sadly it might not include the entire population (so it’s not very accurate) and the country might still be developing country even if it has high GDP level.
Life expectancy
Is is useful indicator shows how old someone might age to. If it is high number like 84 the overall welfare and access must be good in the country like good access to clean water, if very low age expectancy it must be a developing country most of the time as the welfare and access to thing might be bad.
Number of doctors per 10,000
This is great to show developed a country because it sort of shows its access to health care wether free or not.
However it doesn’t show the most aspects to indicate whether a country is developing or already developed.
Adult literacy rate (%) (hint education ;) )
Shows how a country is developed by how much that have done some sort of education by 15 years old.it shows the level of education that has been taught, this is great because it will help with the indication on how developed it is. Like rich country’s usually have high adult literacy ( good access to education.). The bad thing is that it doesn’t count the whole population. Some education is very basic.
goodindicator
% of population with access to clean safe water.
This is great for knowing whether a country is developed as it shows that how many people have access to the vital resource which is need for most things like washing, cooking etc. The more percentage of the population that has clean water the more developed the country is. BUT it is not accurate in total population as people get born and people die.
