Ones perception of oneself…..our self image

Outline what inequity means
Inequity is when things are not equal for everyone, when rights for people are not equal…sometimes based on age, race, sexual orientation
Outline what advocating for others means
Publically standing up for the rights of another person
Outline what stigma means
Stigma is being labelled for having an illness . To Be discrimated .
Describe self esteem and outline how it can be affected
Self esteem is how we value ourselves. It can be affected by a sense of belonging, a sense of power and a sense of uniqueness
Describe what mental health is?
An illness that causes a disorder by their emotional well being or behaviour
List as many mental health disorders as you can
Anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, personality disorder, PTSD, eating disorders
Identify some community services that support adolescents and describe how they provide support
Community adolescent mental health service (camhs): psychiatry and psychology and social work support
Headspace: community based psychology and counselling services
Kids helpline: phone based counselling service
Research a mental health issue: anxiety

Signs symptoms: breathes fast , panic attacks, constantly worries, hot and cold flushes, racing heart .
How to overcome the illness: exposure therapy .

What is the food pyramid?
The food pyramid is a pyramid shaped diagram representing the optimal number of servings to be eaten each day from each of the basic food groups
What is the food plate?
The food plate represents the size of portions and the variety of food that is healthy
Describe what anorexia is?
Characterised by low body weight and body image distortion with an obsessive fear of gaining weight which causes the person to deprive their body if energy
Outline a variety if different food groups in the food plate
Vegetables, fruits, grains, protein, dairy
Describe the Australian teenage dietary recommendations in all food groups
Vegetables 5.5 serves daily Fruit 2 serves Grains 7 serves Protein 2.5 serves Diary 3.5 serves
