My Bike Flashcards
acceleration
acceleration is speed
attract
to draw by a physical force causing or trending to cause to approach.
balanced force
balanced forces do not cause a change in the motion objects.
deceleration
to reduce speed.
distance
distance is a scalar quantity that refers to “ how much ground an object has covered” during its motions.
energy
energy is an ability to do work.
electrostatic force
Coulomb force, also called electrostatic force or Coulomb interaction, attraction or repulsion of particles or objects because of their electric charge.
force
strength or energy as an attribute of physical action or movement
force diagram
force diagram is basically a diagram showing the forces acting on an object.
force field
an invisible barrier of force
friction force
This force is static friction force, which is the force exerted on the surface by another when there is no motion between the two surfaces. Static friction force acts in response to a force trying to cause a stationary object to start moving.
gradient
gradient is simply the slope of a linear equation (i.e. y = mx+b), where m is equal to “the rise over the run”
gravity
Gravity is a force which tries to pull two objects toward each other
lubricant
a substance used for lubricating an engine or component, such as oil or grease.
magnetism
a physical phenomenon produced by the motion of electric charge, which results in attractive and repulsive forces between objects.
mass
a large number of people or objects crowded together
Newton
a unit like kg
North pole
The northern end of the Earth’s axis of rotation, located at 90° north latitude at a point in the Arctic Ocean.
reaction time
the interval between the presentation of a stimulus and the responsive reaction to i
repel
to thrust back or away.
S.I.units
a system of physical units ( SI units ) based on the metre, kilogram, second, ampere, kelvin, candela, and mole, together with a set of prefixes to indicate multiplication or division by a power of ten.
south pole
Geography. the southern end of the earth’s axis, the southernmost point on earth.
speed
the rate at which someone or something moves or operates or is able to move or operate.
ticker timer
The ticker timer makes dots on a paper tape every fiftieth of a second.
