Q

Force Diagram

A

A force diagram is simply a diagram showing all the forces acting on an object, the force’s direction and its magnitude. It is a simplification of the picture that shows just the forces.

Q

South Pole

A

The South Pole, also known as the Geographic South Pole or Terrestrial South Pole, is one of the two points where the Earth’s axis of rotation intersects its surface.\ the southern end of the earth’s axis, the southernmost point on earth.

Q

Balanced Forces

A

Balance forces are two forces acting in opposite directions on an object, and equal in size. Anytime there is a balanced force on an abject, the object stays still or continues moving continues to move at the same speed and in the same direction.

Q

Ticker Timer

A

The ticker timer makes dots on a paper tape every fiftieth of a second. So if a piece of tape is pulled through the timer for a second there will be 50 dots on it. Since the spaces between the dots take such a short time (1/50 s) the ticker timer is a very useful instrument for measuring short intervals of time \ a device used to measure the passage of time. Historically, ticker tape was also used to relay stock prices and other financial information

Q

Distance

A

The length of the space between two points

17
Q

Friction Force

A

This force is static friction force, which is the force exerted on the surface by another when there is no motion between the two surfaces. Static friction force acts in response to a force trying to cause a stationary object to start moving.

18
Q

North Pole

A

The northern end of the earth’s axis of rotation, a point in the Arctic Ocean.

19
Q

Time

A

The indefinite continued progress of existence and events in the past, present, and future regarded as a whole \ a point of time as measured in hours and minutes past midnight or noon

20
Q

Energy

A

Ability to be active : the physical or mental strength that allows you to do things

21
Q

Gradient

A

A place where the ground slopes up or down

22
Q

Reaction Time

A

The time elapsing between the beginning of the application of a stimulus and the beginning of an organism’s reaction to it.

23
Q

Unbalanced Force

A

Forces that cause a change in the motion of an object.

24
Q

Electrostatic Force

A

Coulomb force, also called electrostatic force or Coulomb interaction, attraction or repulsion of particles or objects because of their electric charge.

25
Q

Gravity

A

The natural force that tends to cause physical things to move towards each other : the force that causes things to fall towards the Earth

26
Q

Repel

A

To keep (something) out or away \ to force (something) to move away or apart

27
Q

Velocity

A

Quickness of motion
