My Bike Flashcards
what is acceleration?
Acceleration is the change in velocity per second

what is speed?
Velocity equals distance over time
What is attract?
To draw a force to cause it to unite or pull
What is balanced forces?
When two forces are together and are same in size but act in different directions.

What is deceleration?
Deceleration is the term used for acceleration that causes an object to slow down.
What is distance?
how far you cover.
Name one type of energy
kinetic energy
What is electrostatic force?
relating to stationary electric charges or fields as opposed to electric currents
What is force?
What is force diagram?
A force diagram is simply a diagram showing all the forces acting on an object, the force’s direction and its magnitude. It is a simplification of the picture that shows just the forces.

What is force field in science?
In physics a force field is a vector field that describes a non-contact force acting on a particle at various positions in space. Specifically, a force field is a vector field , where is the force that a particle would feel if it were at the point
what is friction force?
Between two hard surfaces, the kinetic friction is usually somewhat lower than the static friction, meaning that more force is required to set the objects in motion than to keep them in motion. See also drag. The American Heritage® Science Dictionary.
What is gradient?
In mathematical terms, gradient is simply the slope of a linear equation (i.e. y = mx+b), where m is equal to “the rise over the run”. Gradient can be determined easily if you have a known change in field value (temperature, elevation, distance, etc.) taking place over a known distance.

What is gravity?
Gravity is a force which can pull or push towards each other.
What is lubricant?
A substance used for lubricating an engine or component, such as oil or grease
What is magnetism
A physical phenomenon produced by the motion of electric charge, which results in attractive and repulsive forces between objects.
What is mass?
mass definition. In physics, the property of matter that measures its resistance to acceleration. Roughly, the mass of an object is a measure of the number of atoms in it. The basic unit of measurement for mass is the kilogram
What is newton?
The SI derived unit used to measure force. One newton is equal to the force needed to accelerate a mass of one kilogram one meter per second per second. See also joule. Newton, Sir Isaac 1642-1727. English mathematician and scientist
North Pole
either of two variable points on the earth’s surface towards which a magnetic needle points, where the lines of force of the earth’s magnetic field are vertical. North Pole in Science Expand. North Pole. The northern end of the Earth’s axis of rotation, located at 90° north latitude at a point in the Arctic Ocean
What is reaction time in science?
The time elapsing between the beginning of the application of a stimulus and the beginning of an organism’s reaction to it
What does repel mean in science?
.
What is S.I units
The seven SI base units and the interdependency of their definitions. Clockwise from top: kelvin (temperature), second (time), metre (length), kilogram (mass), candela (luminous intensity), mole (amount of substance) and ampere (electric current).

South Pole
For most purposes, the Geographic South Pole is defined as the southern point of the two points where the Earth’s axis of rotation intersects its surface (the other being the Geographic North Pole).
What is speed?
rapidity in moving, going, traveling, proceeding, or performing; swiftness
