Substitution - one base has been substituted with another no frame shift
Insertion - one base is inserted frame shifts can occur some substitutions can code for same amino acid
Deletion - one base is deleted frame shifts can occur

A
Speed up DNA replication, examples are types of radiation, some chemicals and some viruses
