Mind is always active, especially in the always-on economy. Though we are more aware of it
Conscious and unconscious
Always thinking
Judging, comparing, achieving, fear of failing,
Experienced actors on stage also have stage fright. It’s not that you have to overcome it, but learning to give it attention. Can be different for everyone. For one it is taking a vacation, for another it’s drinks and socializing and for another it’s sport, or meditation (can be seen as a sport), for another it’s time disconnecting
Danger of achieving
That happiness comes from the achievement. Or the flattery you receive from the achievement. That is a trap. Because there moments don’t occur everyday, so then all those days you are unhappy?
Allowing yourself to feel fear?
Why?
What happens if you don’t allow yourself to feel fear (example)?
To process it.
If you don’t you can become insensitive to feelings of others, including your children.
E.g. letting your child in coma, to help breathing better (severe septic throat). Parents suppressed the feelings so long that they can become insensitive of feelings of child, resulting in feeling irritated by feelings of child
Conscious and unconscious influencing each other. Example
Jim: we need more first weeks of the year …
Acknowledge that everyone here has allergies towards some personalities. My thought m?
Allergy is a common but wrong word. Being open to different personalities, different ways of working etc and letting that influence you
Reverse role model …
A lot to learn from behavior of people that you do NOT want to follow. Maybe even better than a role model
Always doubting myself and thinking other people know so well what they are talking about
The older I get and more confident I get the more I realize that isn’t true
Study people before you react. The bully at school, the boss at work etc. Because …
People in good places don’t care about what you’re doing. They would try to help build you up. So likely they are in a bad place.
What do people get wrong with motivation?
Thinking it’s a permanent fix, it’s a constant. One will have to learn to perform without motivation. It isn’t always there. That’s where people get it wrong, only wanting to perform if there is motivation/inspiration
Confidence is related to …
But do not be …
Competence
Delusional. What you believe you can do has to be ahead of you, but achievable (e.g. not flying)
Confidence/believe is something that needs to be …
But be aware …
Built. Not just, I’m gonna do this almost impossible task
You can also lose confidence if you don’t get the results
Getting the story out, and then it ends. E.g.
Lance Armstrong, did you do steroids? no no no yes
