- Women have to wear hijab for modesty and protect themselves from others. Also have to wear it during prayers
- Men and women are equal. Amina Wudad advocates for Women rights especially when the Quran doesn’t separate between both genders; it is the individual societies that led to such separation. First Woman to lead a Friday prayer in Episcopal Cathedral of St. John the Divine.
- Women are not meant to lead a prayer (distract men). but can be scholars who give lectures.
- Women can work exactly like a man but it is the man’s responsibility to bring in the profit as per usual Islamic rules.
- Niqab: Face coverings so it is hard to identify someone (controversy)
Burqa: Also same as hijab.
Veiling: “clothing”, Abaya to cover themselves up - Main problem during the 9-11 time as people had to be identified
- Veil as oppression. Veil has political, social, religion, feminism related problems.
