Muslim beliefs Flashcards
what is a quote to describe the nature of Allah as transcendent?
‘he neither begets nor is born’
a quote to describe Allah as omnipotent?
‘all knowing, all powerful ‘
this affects muslims today because in times of need they know that Allah is always there. or when they feel weak they know he ahs strength and can channel his strength. and it brings them peace
what is a quote to describe Allah as just?
’ Allah the most just of judges’
what is Al-Qadr ?
the belief in predestination, that every action is already been preordained by Allah and he has willed it, but this does not mean that Muslims should be complacent
a quote supporting Al-Qadr
’ tie your camel first then trust in Allah’
why do some Muslims think that life is futile because of al-qadr
what do good Muslims do?
if everything is preordained then why should they try, if it has already been willed thye cannot overturn the omnipotence of Allah
good Muslims strive to be the best they can be to please Allah and align themselves with Allah’s plans, Allah wants good things for Muslims, he does not want to cause hate, he wants peace among Muslims
why are the characteristics of Allah important?
they help Muslims to be able to understand Allah in a deeper way and so they can also aspire to have those characteristics.
what is Malaikah?
belief in angels
what do angels do?
they record every good and bad action of a Muslim and so on the day of judgement the angels are responsible for dictating Muslim’s fate, and warn them to remain faithful to Allah and not stray away from their faith.
is there a link between Al-Qadr and Malaikah? FLAG
if the angels are recording all actions of Muslims whether they be good or bad they surely must have an impact on whether Muslims spend eternity with Allah or in pain and suffering in hell. but if all acts are preordained by Allah by parameter of Al-Qadr is the job of angels futile and obsolete
What is the importance of angels?
for example, it was angel Jibril that revealed the Qur’an to Muhammed and without Jibril the message of the Qur’an would not have been received to the Musilm population and as a religion it would have no core as the Qur’an is the basis of Islam and roots all of the teachings
what is Akhirah?
life after death
what is the importance of Akhirah?
- makes Muslims more aware that Allah is watching
- makes them strive to do the best thing
- they view every action they partake in as an act of worship to Allah
what is tawhid?
the oneness of Allah, there is no God but Allah
what is Risalah
the prophets of or messengers of Allah
