An interval is the distance between two notes (e.g. 5th or 2nd)

What is beat?
The underlying pulse of the music.
What is rhythm?
Patterns of long and short sounds and silences found in music.

The speed of the beat

What is repetition?
Playing or using the same idea more than one time.
What is an Ensemble?
A group of musicians that play together.
What is a metre in music?
The groupings of the beats.
What is a Bar/Measure in music?
A segment of music that contains a specific number of beats.
What is the Time Signature?
A symbol in music notation is used to show how many beats are in a bar/measure and the length of those beats.
What is a strong beat?
An emphasized beat
What is a weak beat?
A beat with no emphasis.
What is forte?
Strong and loud
What is piano?
Quiet/soft
What is Instrumentation?
The instruments used in a piece of music.

Length= 4 beats
What is the length of a minim?
Length= 2 beats
What is the length of a crochet?
Length= 1 beat

Length= 1/2 beat

What is melody?

Contour is the direction that a line takes across your music.
