Melody
Organized succession of pitches
Rhytm
Organization of sound in time
Harmony
Playing or singing 2 or more pitches or notes at the same same time.
Falsetto
Singing in a voice higher than the range of one’s natural voice.
Polyrtythms
Several interlocking rhytms being played or sung simulateously. Example are : Jeopordy music.
Gruttural
Raspy, hoarse, growling type of voice. example : James Brown.
Improvisation
To spontaneously make up or create melodic ideas based on the pre existing harmonies or chords of a song. it is called soloing. everything got to be on the same chord.
Collective improvisation
When instrumentalists/vocalists improvise all at the same time
Big band
A jazz ensemble or group of instruments consisting of a brass section: 4-5 trumpets, 3 trombones and a bass trombonez( tubas and French horn are optional) a reed section consisting of a piano, bass and trap drums( guitar optional)
Latin Percussion
Congas, timbales, maracas, claves, guira, cowbell.

Alto: Lowest sounding female voice.
Tenor: Highest sounding male voice
Bass: Lowest sounding male voice.
