The underlying pulse of a composition. This is not the same a Rhythm is the patterns of a duration (long & short) that are layered atop the beat.

A
When the accent falls in an unexpected place, namely on a normally “weak” beat, or between beats.

A
The relative position of a musical sound

Mode (major/minor)
A
Minor: Dreadful, dark, ominous
Major: Bright, cheery, optimistic

Dynamics
A
How loud or how soft a pitch sounds.

Dissonance/Consonance
A
Dissonance: Pitches sounding momentarily disagreeable and unstable.
Consonance: Pitches sounding agreeable and stable
