Q

Delay

A

An effect in which the original signal is repeated one or more times. There is normally a progressive decrease in the sound

Q

Wah Wah

A

This effect is commonly used in funk music, but also to make guitar sounds more inrteresting in a range of sounds, it makes the guitar produce a sound like it is going “Wah Wah”

16
Q

Chorus

A

An effect created by doubling a signal and adding delay and pitch modulation, intended to make a single source sound more like an ensemble

17
Q

Phaser

A

An effect which combines a signal with a phase-shifted version of itself to produce creative comb-filtering effects. Most phasers are controlled by means of an LFO

18
Q

Flanger

A

Flanging is an audio effect produced by mixing two identical signals together, one signal delated by a small and dradually changing period, usually smaller than 20 milliseconds. This produces a swept comb filter effect. Varying the time delayt causes these sweep up and down the frequency spectrum

19
Q

Autotune

A

Where the recording software currects the persons singing signal, this often can produce a robotic effect

20
Q

Parameter

A

Where the recording software can detect when notes are being sung out of tune

21
Q

Vocoder

A

A device where a voice is sampled then fed into a keyboard synthesizer - then played in different putches by the keyboard - and with added effects, it gives a robotic effect
