a sequence of single notes that is musically satisfying; a tune

When notes are beside each other

When notes are further apart from each other or a larger interval between notes

A piece of music with lyrics within them (words)

Uses notes within the scale

When the words are set one note per syllable

When the words are set with many notes per syllable

When something repeats itself
Sequence
A type of repetition where the melody is repeated in a different pitch. The pitch can ascend or descend
Rhyhtm
The pattern of short or long notes
Ostinato
A pattern that repeats
Time signature
It is a set of two numbers at the start of a piece. The top number tells you how many beats per bar and the bottom tells you the length of each beat
Simple Time
where the bottom number is 4 or 2 Each beat can be sub divided into two.
