What are the genres from the baroque period and give a brief description
Oratorium: vocal music, large-scale composition with text based on bible performed by soloists and choir with orchestral accompaniments. Performed without decor in church or concert hall
Concerto grosso: most important orchestral composition of baroque period. Small group of soloists (concertino/principale) contrasts with a larger group (tutti/ripieno). Smaller group usually consists of 2 vocalists and continuo (harpsichord and cello)
Larger group usually consists of a string orchestra and continuo
