What is an Idiophone?
Any musical instrument that creates sound primarily by the instrument as a whole vibrating—without the use of strings or membranes. produces sound when struck or shaken. ex: bells, gong, rattle
What is an Chordophone?
A stringed instrument; musical instrument that makes sound by way of a vibrating string or strings. ex. guitar or piano, harps, zithers
What is a Membranophone?
Any musical instrument which produces sound primarily by way of a vibrating stretched membrane; striking, rubbing, or singing. ex. drums, tabla
What is an Aerophone?
Any of a class of musical instruments in which sound is generated by air as the primary vibrating medium; wind instrument ex. flute, trumpet
What is an Electrophone?
Instrument whose primary sound-producing medium is electricity; sound is generated electronically
