Staff
It is a special symbol that is put on the staff to determine the pitch. It indicates mid-range to high-range pitch. (Get a piece of paper and draw the clef)
Treble clef/G-clef
Why is the treble clef called g-clef?
It is because the curl passes through the g-line.
What is the letter used for the ledger line?
Middle C or C
What are the acronyms used for E, G, B, D, and F and where are they used for? (Line or space)

Why is the bass clef called F-clef?
It is because the line in between the two dots is the F-clef.
It describes the distance between two notes. It is indicated by numbers 1-8.

What is the first interval, and what is the distance of the notes?
Unison/prime interval, and the notes are exactly the same
What is the second interval, and what is the distance of the notes?
2nd Interval, two steps (from C to D)
What is the third interval, and what is the distance of the notes?
3rd Interval, three steps (from C to E)
What is the fourth interval, and what is the distance of the notes?
4th Interval, four steps (from C to F)

6th Interval, six steps (from C to A)

What are the two types of ranges?
Wide range and Narrow range.
How can we tell if the range is Narrow?
If it has 5 steps between highest and lowest pitches.
How can we tell if the range is Wide?
If it has 10 steps between highest and lowest pitches.
These are made up of a set of notes determined through a sequence of intervals.

It can be used to build melody and harmony in music.

How can we identify if the key is a half step?
To remember that a half step occurs when there is nothing between the two keys.
How can we identify if the key is a whole step?
To remember that there is a black key in between.
What is the Major Pentatonic Scale?
Pentatonic scale has the word penta, which means five in Greek; It is a scale made out of five notes only.
What is the pattern for Major Pentatonic Scale?
1 whole step, 1 whole step, 1 ½ steps, 1 whole step, I ½ steps. (WS - WS - 1 ½ S - WS - 1 ½ S)
What is the Major Scale?
It is composed of eight notes arranged one after the other.
What is the pattern for Major Scale?
Whole - Whole - Half - Whole - Whole - Whole - Half (W - W - H - W - W - W - H
What are the notes of the G-major scale?
G, B, C, D, E, F, and G
What are the affected steps?
E to F
How will we fix the affected steps?
Raising F, so it becomes F#. So now, E to F# is a whole step and F# to G is a half step.
What is F#?
F that is raised a half-tone higher.
It raises the pitch a half-step higher than the original note. Please indicate the symbol as well.
Sharp (#)
It moves down the pitch half-step lower than the original note. Please indicate the symbol as well.
Flat (♭)
It cancels previously applied accidental symbols. (The note returns to its original pitch) Please indicate the symbol as well.
