what are tetrachords
when you have two same 4-note patterns in a scale separated by a whole tone
Where do the semitones occur in a major scale?
3 and 4 & 7 and 1
What is key used to identify?
The name of the note of the first degree of the scale
Key signature?
Sharps or flats that are consistently used in a scale
What is enharmonic?
When two scales share the same pitch or name. There are three scales that are enharmonic:
B + = Cb+
F#+ = Gb+
C#+ = Db+
Keys can be enharmonic as well(just like the keys shown above)
Describe what transpose means
When a different key is played than the original
What are parallel keys?
When a major and minor scale scare the same letter name(or first degree).
