What is compartment syndrome?
A
When damaged muscles swell and increase the pressure inside fascia. This cuts off the blood supply and can cause paralysis, necrosis or tissue death.

Rules of gout:
A
- Treat the acute attack before you start to lower the uric acid levels systemically
- Gout can flare up when you start or stop urate lowering therapy
- Do not stop urate lowering therapy during an acute attack of gout
- measure uric acid levels monthly

- fat embolism syndrome
- deep vein thrombosis
